The college organizes annual sports meet every alternate year at college campus Dombivli (E). The students showcase their sporting talents, witnessed by parents, guardians and guests. Students go through intense and rigorous training and practice for couple of months to put together a spectacular and colorful display of grills march past and some cultural programs. Various sports event like Kabaddi, Kho – Kho, Cricket etc are organized. The day is filled with a variety of fun, filled sports activities all aimed at raising sports awareness among the students.
Every year the college celebrates annual events during the month of December in the form of sports or cultural programs. These programs are organized every year alternately. The annual cultural program gives an opportunity for students to present their talents in music, dance and drama. The college organize a four day annual cultural program where undergraduate students perform various cultural activities.
Students get an opportunity to present themselves before parents and guests and the remaining students learn about back stage work and team work and the importance of coordination. The energised and motivated students showcase color filled and theme oriented performance.
Parent’s day is globally celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday of July. It is a day for the students to make their parents feel that how great full they are for having such lovely parents. Students take effort to thank their great parenting which has shaped of their life in such a beautiful way. On parent’s day, they try to adopt every method in which they can make their parents feel special and convey their hearts feeling.
The reason for celebrating this day is to thank and acknowledge parents for all that they have done for their children. Parents are the creator of a miniature outer world of the society. Parents make a family which forms the fundamental concepts and the first institution of love for a child. It is the first school for a child where he learns the values of life.
A child is just like the potter soft clay which can be given desired shape. The shaping of the child for the future and inculcating the values of leading a life is the duty of their parents which they fulfill through out their life.
G R Patil college celebrates mother’s day every year. Mother’s day is a celebration of bond of love and affection between a mother and a child and it celebrates the spirit of motherhood.
To highlight the significance of father’s in the upbringing of child, G R Patil college celebrates father’s day every year. On this day, students express thanks to their fathers for all their unconditional love and affections.

All students who successfully complete a degree program at G R Patil College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Dombivli are eligible to participate in the convocation ceremony. It is held per academic year in January month. The convocation ceremony is an opportunity for graduates to share the celebration of their accomplishment with peers, family and friends.
Every year college has invited distinguished personality from reputed field. This year college has invited Mr. Shrikrishna K. Gore (Assisstant Police Inspector), Manpada Police Station, Dombivli, who has cracked the Maharashtra Public Service Commission and then join the service as PSI. On the occasion of eve they have given motivational lecture to the students how to prepare the MPSC and other competitive exams impressively.
Every one cherishes each golden moment spent in the college. The alumni maintains their umbilical cord with their Alma mater through their association called G R Patil Ex – students Association. No matter where they are or what specialized niche they have carved for themselves.
National Service Scheme has been playing a very important role in enriching the souls and minds of the students of the college since extensive time. The overall objective of this scheme is education and service to society and by the community. It is a scheme for students to provide to the needs of the community, as and when necessary. It will also help the students to converse with society. The students joining this scheme build up many behavioral interactive skills. They visit the rural areas as NSS Volunteers during the camps organized by the college. The NSS volunteers take initiative in developing a technocratic environment and also help the deprived people to develop themselves. The scheme promotes the aptitude to present them in an improved way. Thus the eventual goal of the scheme is to endeavor to inculcate the bond of patriotism, national integration, brother hood, gender equality, communal harmony among these volunteers. The college students actively participate in social services activities leading to their overall development. The college runs effectively the national service scheme (NSS). Through these schemes, the institution undertakes various extension activities in the neighboring communities. At present the strength of the NSS unit is of 60 volunteers. Every year the college select a neighboring village in the vicinity, organizes a camp for 7 days and takes up cleanliness, village survey and other constructive works.
